Guys, I did it! I made my very own apple marmalade! I found this super simple recipe online for some apple jam and added some Zippy-flare to it! It was incredible! And because I am feeling so accomplished and awesome, I am going to share this recipe with you! :3

OK! So, here is what you need:
~ 5 small/medium tart apples
~ 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
~ 1 1/4 cup of water
~ 2/3 cup of sugar
~ 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
~ 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
~ 12-16 ounce jar/ airtight container
* This yields about a single jar full however, the recipe can be altered to yield more.
* Sugar and spice measurements can be altered if you want a less cinnamon-y or less sweet jam
1. Wash, peel, core, and slice apples into small slices. (I personally wash the apples, peel them, and wash them again before I slice, but that’s just me and my OCD :p) Apple cutters can be wonderful for the coring and slicing, but that all depends on the size of you apples. The apples I used were small, so I just did coring and slicing with a knife to make sure I got as much of the apple as possible.
2. In a pot, combine the sliced apples, water, and lemon juice. Boil for about 20 minutes or until apples are soft. I could tell that mine were done because the slices began to break apart when I stirred them around in the pot.
(I took the time while the apples were boiling to make sure that my jar was clean)
3. Mash the apples. You can blend the apple/water/lemon juice mixture in the pot with a blender, pour it into a food processor, or mash the mixture up manually. It really doesn’t matter what you use, you just want to mash the apples up as much as possible. You will know you did a good job when your mixture is a fine paste.
4. Add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the apple paste mixture. I used a blender to mix it in and to make sure my mixture was nice and smooth.
5. Pour into a saucepan and heat on high until the mixture come to a boil. Stir consistently otherwise, your mixture is going to stick to the bottom of your pan.
6. Once the paste is boiling, place the lid on it and turn it down to a medium/low heat. Remove lid and stir every once a while to prevent sticking.
7. Once the paste is thick, pour into a jar, seal the lid tightly, and place in the refrigerator to chill. In a few hours, you will have a super yummy and delicious homemade apple jam/marmalade!
